The Erwarton Queen, public house and restaurant set in pleasant surrounding close to the stour estuary

Statement - The Erwarton Queen's Head

It is with regret that we have decided to close The Queen's Head public house in Erwarton. The pub, which has been in the Buckle family for over twenty years, will cease trading on the 29th July 2009. All staff have been informed and we will be looking for a tenant or buyer for the property.

Owner James Buckle has the following comment:
"The decision to close The Erwarton Queen's Head was not made lightly. It was the first pub in our group, bought by my father for its location on the Shotley peninsula close to where he liked to sail. However, unlike the other two pubs in the group (The Bildeston Crown and The Lindsey Rose), The Queen's Head has, in spite of the best efforts of management and staff, failed to reach a sustainable turnover. We are not the first rural local to close and sadly I don't think we will be the last."
